Quick word of thanks to the paper I’ve stuck with
Just a few words about my favourite newspaper, “The Queensland Times” :Thank you for being there for me for the past 32 years and earlier when I was a child. Our family was brought up with the QT. Dad always told me to read the funeral notices first, as I would be reading his one day. That has always stuck with me and I have been sending the notices to my brother in Cairns for many years so he can keep up with the Ipswich people whom he knew and had left this earth.
After the funeral notices came the puzzles.
I have won a few competitions with your paper, for which I thank you.
Also, it has been nice to see the photos of familiar faces over the years.
I would like to say this, if I could – my favourite journalist has been Andrew Korner – such a great writer. Thank you for everything.
Here is my limerick regarding “my paper”:It had to come one day
When the QT would fade away
It is with regret
It won’t be at my step
To be read as I start my day Regards, Cathy Coogan, Silkstone
