THE Starlight Foundation is calling on Scenic Rim residents to light up their front yards this Christmas to help raise money for seriously ill children.

If you have plenty of people come to view your Christmas lights display, the organisation is asking you to consider becoming a donation point as part of their Christmas Lights fundraiser.

Taking part is simple – all you need to do is register your address with the Starlight Foundation.

Money raised from this festive season will be donated back to the foundation so they can grant Starlight Wishes to children right across the country.

Starlight Foundation’s national partnerships manager Matt Geraghty said the charity was hoping to raise a significant amount to help make the dreams of sick children become a reality.

“This is the second year we have run the Starlight Christmas Lights fundraiser, and as a charity, this year we are hoping to raise more than $728,000 which will grant 112 life-changing Starlight Wishes,” Mr Geraghty said.

“This year alone, we will grant more than 550 wishes. A Starlight Wish is something the child can ask for, and no matter what it is, we will do our best to help that come true.

“There is no limit on a child’s wish and no limit on what we can achieve for them.

“One of the most popular wishes we receive are for the family to go on a holiday, which is usually to the Gold Coast and the theme parks.”

If you would like to light up the lives of sick children, register your house as a donation point online at the Starlight Foundation.
